Backup and Sync
An important thing to remember with Reckoner is that data is local to your device. That means if your device breaks, is stolen, or is reset, then your data is also lost. Reckoner provides a few different ways to backup and synchronize your data across devices.
Database Backup
In non-web platforms, it is possible to backup and restore the database from a file. This can be done on-demand or using a periodic schedule. This can be setup on the app settings. There are several cloud options you could utilize to make sure the backups are available to other devices. If using a public cloud sync offering (One Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc), it is highly recommended that you upload your data encrypted using either the device encryption key or a custom key.
Synchronization Service
The best experience when using Reckoner with multiple devices is to use the synchronization service.
Pocketbase Self Hosted
The current only way to use the synchronization service is to self host a Pocketbase instance. If you aren't technically savvy, then Pocketbase offeres some recommendations in their FAQ for providers who host a Pocketbase instance for you.
